USAA has served us well for 40 years
I am dismayed at the negative comments about USAA. I hope that my positive view of their claim service is not turned around some day as it has for others. From lightning strikes to that knocked out electronics, to roof shingle damange from wind, to fender benders they have been prompt and fair. I have been a member for over 40 years. Many many years ago I was rear ended while stopped in traffic. My vintage MGA had about $600 in damage. USAA tables said it is totaled and worth about $450 based upon its age. I was able to send in newpaper ads and magazine listings for the same make and year and show it was worth over $2000. They agreed to pay for the repairs less the deductible. So far, I give them a good score... and they return a portion of the "profit" of operation each year.
