Do not pay fair market value

USAA used to be a benefit for Military officers but has turned into just another auto insurance company. I was recently involved in an accident and my car was a total loss. Rather than use a value guide the had an "independent" estimator create a value based on current cars for sale. My car was in very good condition and had 70,000 miles on it. They used the three cheapest cars they could find to create a "fair" value. One had 120,000 miles on it. another was fairly comparable and the other was a 2 door coupe (mine was a 4 door sedan).....It was an accord so it is not like there are not 20 others exactly like it for sale the compare it to.....They said it does not matter what the body style or even year is...they can adjust the value to match my model and year.
Absolutely ridiculous...This is not an apples to apple comparison...and to create a value using this method is idiotic.
