No Major Complaints.
My 19 yr. old daughter was involved in a questionable at fault accident in 11/08. She was rear ended but the officer said she lost control of her car on the ice. I'm a retired cop. I investigated my fair share of accidents. Had an issue with the report, but didn't push it with the police. Did $3400.00 damage to car.
Their customer service was satisfactory. Payed the claim w/o issue but it took a bit longer due to difficulty with Agent returning my calls. The agent did a good job at asking my daughter her side of accident though.
One thing I did appreciate. The car was close to a total cost wise. Unitrin allowed me to use a tail light assembly and quarterpanel that I bought at a slavage yard. Both in great shape. This lowered the total repair cost by a few hundred dollars and my kid is still driving the car to college.
The policy came up for renewal last month. Much to my suprise there was a rate reduction! Her only ticket went off her record in Dec. 08. Maybe that had something to do with it.
No major issues. Will stay with Unitrin at this time.
