BEWARE of Safeco Insurance
Through my job I switched to Metlife auto insurance, who apparently contract out to Safeco. I talked to an agent who confirmed everything and total premium was to be less than $1,000 for 6 months. After 4 wks I received a letter stating policy was to go up to $2,500 because I didn't provide proof of husband's prior insurance (I had, I faxed it twice). I called, upset, was told what I sent wasn't what they needed. So I had what they needed (policy declarations page) faxed. I received an email saying they received it. Another 4 weeks went by and I received another statement saying our total premium for 6 months is now $3,897.90. We both have perfect driving records... This company is a SCAM and you should avoid them. We're switching insurance companies but not until after a LOT of headaches, heartaches, worry, and $1,000 paid for only 3 months of auto insurance.
