Was very dubious when I switched to Progressive- but I have been pleasantly surprised with their level of customer service. My car rolled downhill and caused some minor property damage- their reps were curteous, pleasant, and thorough. They took care of my rental car ( no out of pocket for me), and have paid the body shop an amount that the body shop that was very reasonable. I did NOT use their recommended shop, but found a highly recommended one myself through Porsche Club of America, and various specialized mechanics.
I have recently been told that Mercury offered cheaper rates, but am finding it hard to justify the savings alone, based on the level of support I have received from Progressive. So far, I am VERY happy.
