Progressive Sucks!, Buyer beware! Don't believe the cute little commercials that Progressive is so concerned about your welfare and your pocket that they will compare their rates to other major company's rates. I felt if they were so concerned about me, I should sign with them, since all of the rates they gave me were close to the same. After I sined up, I had second thoughts. $1400 a year for just liability seemed like an awful lot for a 52 yr. old guy with no accidents or tickets for 5 yrs., so I went on line myself. Within 10 minutes, I found 2 major companies that would insure me for less than half of what Progressive was charging. That's right, over 50% less (around $675). One company was AIG, the other was Hartford. I dumped Progressive and picked up Hartford. Even though I paid Progressive "handsomely" for the short time I was with them, they had the nerve to charge me a $50 cancellation fee and they insisted I pay it, and they sicked a collection agency on me. I paid them with "EXTREME PREJUDICE" and I promised the bastards I would publish something about it on the Internet. So, here it is. I hope this leads to them losing 10's of thousands of dollars, and much more, in wouldbe policies for the irritation they've caused me. Happy motoring!
