My husband and I have had Nationwide for at least 6 years. There was no problem until two years ago when we really needed Nationwide. In 2005 my husband was in a car accident and was not at fault. He had a green and was going straight. The other driver turned right into him. My husband needed a rod in his leg. He was at "no fault". Nationwide paid the medical bills without a problem, but because the other car driver did not have insurance, we did not get any money and he is still waiting on his settlement two years and three months later. He has a lawyer, and has had several court cases but it's not getting him anywhere. Every month we pay Nationwide for uninsured motorist (50,000 coverage), and we still continue to do that today, but have not received anything for it. Now what will happen if I stop paying Nationwide for uninsured motorist? Our insurance will be canceled. So where is the money that we are owed?
Needless to say, we are now looking for a better insurance company.
For those who are considering Nationwide: You will pay a premium every month and get nothing in return! THEY ARE NOT ON YOUR SIDE!
