GEICO MORE THAN DOUBLED my rate without telling me!
I bought a policy from GEICO, $414 for 6 months. I paid $207 (half of it). I called them 30 days into the policy to ask about adding my girlfriend to my policy, and they ran my driver's report and my rate was now $1147. I cancelled the policy and asked for a refund. They said "Your refund is $18." I can't figure out just exactly what percentage of what $18 is, but by my calculations, I paid for 90 days and used 30. That's 1/3, meaning GEICO owes me 2/3 of $207 = $138. I called five times, trying to get someone to understand, all I got was serious attitude, even from the SUPERVISORS, specifically ADAM HOIST. I told GEICO that this was a very easy call: GEICO has an angry customer, or GEICO has a friendly ex-customer, it will only cost them $138. They refused. I'm now writing a letter to the CEO, because this is no way to treat people. Mr. Hoist said "You're not going to change policy nationwide." I THINK SOMEONE OUGHT TO!
