Three months after cancelling insurance, a collection agency calls
I\'m not going to give you the long version because after speaking to six different people from the agent, to corporate, to the investigator and the collections company, (not to mention the time involved) the message would be too complicated to follow.
Like many others, I was given a quote much less than what I was paying by a door-to-door insurance salesman. He did say he couldn\'t give me an exact quote, but he was certain I would be paying less than who I was currently with. I called the company and was given an agent who agreed to meet me for breakfast and discuss the rates, etc. To my dismay, it was about $7 more than what I\'d been paying with Geico (I\'m back with them now). But, since she\'d taken me to breakfast, I stupidly felt as if it would be impolite, besides $7 wasn\'t that much.
The following month and three months after, my rate increased from the original $74/month to over $125/month, andmy renters insurance was dropped with \
