I'm sorry to say that I should have looked at the Esurance online reviews earlier. My fiance and I needed to get insurance quickly for our vehicles seeing how she needed to separate from her parents insurance in order to save money on coverage. The story is that her family, consisting of parents and siblings, all unfortunately had some fender benders throughout their first few years of driving in public. Nothing serious but enough to add to the insurance coverage/payments/cost for everyone. I am certain that you understand how heartbreaking this can be, especially for family members that have to be in on it together. Long story short, she decided to break away, try to save some money by getting in a coverage with me (I have not had any accidents in all the time I have been on the road - knock on wood). We went with Esurance because of their low cost and supposed great coverage. When my fiance had her driving record looked up by Esurance and I believe another company called Choicepoint found an accident on her record. My fiance knew that this was incorrect. Esurance told her to get a document from the DMV that stated her true record, one that would display the accidents that were actually her fault. We emailed it and attached the document. They received the email, failed to receive the document. I faxed it over, called to make sure they received it, and got back an email a week later stating that it was not sufficient. They required a letter from her previous insurance stating her coverage and accident or accidents under them. We faxed it and somehow they lost it in the process. We re-faxed it and found out that it was not enough. We were able to talk to a representative from Esurance and told them the difficulties we were having and told them this time out that if they needed to verify any information to call my fiance's previous insurance company. They called while we were on the phone and we were able to talk to each representative during the same call. The representative from the old insurance company wrote a letter specifically stating everything that esurance required. The representative read the letter to the customer representative of esurance on the phone for us. The esurance operator said it was enough. She apologized for the problems and told us everything would be resolved. A day later we received another email stating that our letter was still insufficient.



We are canceling our service soon.



I understand that many people believe that the main reason why people are having problems is because people are not paying attention to policies, emails, etc. I'm sorry, but we read everything we had to except for reviews on esurance. If I knew then what I know now, I would definitely go with another company instead.



Stay away from Esurance if you can, please. I don't mean to tell anyone what to do, but I sure hope you can avoid problems like the ones we are facing. We are paying 200 to 300 more for every six months and thats money that we can use for something important like our wedding or purchasing our first home.
