ADVICE FOR INDIVIDUALS CONTEMPLATING INSURANCE COVERAGE BY AMICA —LOOK ELSEWHERE! DON’T BE DECEIVED!

I am not commenting on Amica’s rates, because I am not a policyholder of Amica’s (never was and never plan to be). I am commenting on Amica’s ability to settle claims when the policyholder they represent are one hundred percent at fault.

I have contacted the State Insurance Commission regarding my complaint. Almost two months ago I was rear-ended by a vehicle that was insured by Amica. My vehicle was stopped as I waiting to merge into traffic. The damage to my vehicle was in excess of $4000. Amica sent an estimator (employed by Amica) to access the damage to my vehicle. The report was submitted, but Amica is procrastinating and balking at settling within what I deem as a reasonable time.

Does Amica think they can save much by procrastinating (gaining on the interest on money that can be held back until the end) and paying later rather than earlier?
