While it sounds like they aren't the easiest

While it sounds like they aren't the easiest company to deal with if you're not the one insured by them, I have to say that they've served me well as one of their clients. After a major accident that resulted in my vehicle being totalled and the other vehicle sustaining several thousand dollars worth of damage not to mention years of medical bills for physical therapy (I sustained four broken bones including a broken pelvis) they did indeed forgive my first accident and never increased my premiums as a result of it. They also handled all of my medical bills quickly and efficiently. I can't say how good they were handling my vehicle damage because I had dropped collision coverage on it just before the accident (figuring that since I was such a safe driver, the car was used, and...let's just say it was a -big- mistake). According to them, they covered the damage to the other driver's vehicle in full. What they didn't cover was his claims that he had to have shoulder surgery as a result of the the accident (I believe he also was claiming other auxiliary damages - pain and the like). When the other driver filled a lawsuit three years to the day later, they did handle the situation very well - courteously and with minimum pain to myself and my husband who was fighting cancer at the time. My only complaint with them is that they were not always as forthcoming with information at the time of the accident as I would have liked and made no effort to investigate the accident other than to interview the other driver and one other person (they never interviewed me or inspected the damage to my car, etc.). I held onto the remains of my old vehicle for several days (paying storage fees all the while) so they could inspect it in case the other driver decided to take action against me before I realized they had no interest in it whatsoever.
