Son was at fault in accident--Allstate took care of everything

Last January my son turned left into oncoming traffic at a light, colliding head-on with another car. Of the four in my son''s car, two walked away(with injuries), two were taken by ambulance. Driving conditions were poor (raining, nighttime), fault for accident was split between drivers, I think. Allstate may have paid 100% of claims, I don't know for sure but I know they paid at least 70%. Fault was estimated at 70/30 in favor of the other driver. The medical bills for my son's three passengers and the other driver were very high, and including the personal injury claims I suspect the total cost of the accident to Allstate was near or over $100,000. I didnt ask but when recently shopping for auto insurance the quoting agent remarked when looking at our insurance info that the accident was "very costly" to Allstate.
So, how was my experience with Allstate? Excellent. But I'm speaking from the insured's side--I didn't have to file any claims (my son was not covered in the accident, but that's not related to Allstate). Our rates did not go up, we did not receive any harsh warnings, and were kept informed as to the progress of the other parties claims and were notified when each settlement was reached. I never heard any of my son's friends complain about our insurance.
As mentioned, I've recently been looking at other insurance companies, and found excellent rates with AAA, but am considering staying with Allstate after reading reviews of other insurance companies (even the negative ones about Allstate)
