Our car was "totaled" by an Allied Insurance customer. Allied Insurance quoted us a very low replacement value. Very low. After ASKING to see their market data analysis, performed by a company by the name of CCC, Inc., it appears that the data used to arrive at a replacement value is questionable. My husband works in the area of statistical analysis and there were some definite red flags in CCC's analysis. It seems as if they have chosen cars for comparison that they are able to "deduct" from rather than "add to" to arrive at a value...large deductions. Furthermore, they rated the car as being in "fair" condition (which we disagree with) and then proceeded to deduct from that value items which would have already been adjusted in the "fair condition" rating. We will be addressing these issues with the Indiana Department of Insurance and will have these practices looked at by qualified analysts. I am VERY dissatisfied with the service I've received and feel that their offer is very unfair.
