I had the worst customer experience with Nationwide Insurance. I would never do business with them and advice everyone else from doing so. Over the last ten years I have been in five different auto accidents, none of which were my fault so I have experience dealing AAA, All State, State Farm and the nightmare of Nationwide Insurance/Allied Insurance. With All State, State Farm and especially AAA, if you are hit by one of their insured I have found the response was timely, friendly with efficient processes. Nationwide is slow, lazy & at times nasty.
David Freeman, Nationwide’s customer service representative refused to take liability for the accident, despite a clear cut case of liability. Liability was made over 30 days after the accident and it was only made because I took time off to get a police report that somehow a national insurance agency couldn’t seem to get in a timely matter. The delay in accepting responsibility was nothing more than a waste of time since their insured back into a street and hit the side of my car – a case of clear cut liability in California as stated by the officers at the scene of the accident. The “slow pay” response continued as I had to press Mr. Freeman for a rental car (he never volunteered). I had to press him to pay my towing costs (he never volunteered). The experience was unbelievably horrible, I was forced to make numerous phone calls and threats to even get a response or action from the company. My car was hit & towed away over 2 months ago and this continues to drag on.
Be warned, this is how they deal with people. I can guarantee I would never insure my house, cars or invest any money in this organization.
